Denier Describes Yarn Size, Not the Whole Bag Fabric
Denier is the mass in grams of 9,000 metres of yarn. It is a yarn-description term used in fabric specifications. It should be read with the fiber, yarn construction, weave, coating, backing and finished-bag structure. A higher or lower number alone does not prove fabric weight, abrasion performance, water resistance or the durability of a finished bag.
When two suppliers use the same fiber name, their fabrics can still differ because yarn form, ply, twist, weave and finishing are different. Ask for the full fabric specification and compare swatches in the intended bag construction.
Useful first message: provide the exact fabric name, fiber content, stated denier if supplied, weave, coating or backing, color, intended use and any test or claim requirement.

Fiber name
Nylon or polyester identifies a fiber family. It does not complete the fabric specification.
Yarn description
Denier, yarn form, ply and twist describe parts of the yarn system. They can affect the resulting fabric but are not a finished-bag rating.
Fabric construction
Weave, coating, backing, finish and fabric weight need their own confirmation. Do not replace them with one denier figure.
Finished bag
Seams, lining, straps, zippers and expected use also affect the final result. A fabric specification does not establish a bag claim on its own.
